In the Heat of the Summer Sun

I haven't updated here in a really long time while, so I thought I'd... you know, update. :) Hmm... what should I say? I don't know.

I'm glad summer is here. Summer is hands-down my favorite season. I love everything about it. The warmth, the heat, the sun... getting to wear T-shirts and shorts and flip flops and light, airy clothes... going to the beach (see above!) and on vacation... eating ice cream, licking it furiously so it doesn't melt all over your hands... watching sunsets in the evening... yes, that all sounds pretty good to me. And then constantly, there's just this atmosphere I can't put into words. Like a mixture of freedom and happiness and fun. It doesn't exist when it's fall or winter or spring. Summer is the only time.

I'm going on vacation in a/for a few days. Thursday to Sunday. It should be pretty pleasant and fun and relaxing. I'm pretty excited about it... it'll be my first vacation of the summer. First vacation in about a year, actually. I just hope I'm lucky with the weather!

I have one more thing to say before I go, it's pretty off-topic. It concerns Awesomeology and where it stands as a website. Well, here goes. You have probably noticed that I rarely update here anymore (three months since my last post, wow...). This is for a mixture of reasons. Honestly, I don't really feel like it 99% of the time. The 1% of the time I do, is when I update, like today. But usually I just don't want to. There's no desire there. So I don't. I don't like pushing myself to do things I don't want to do. There always seems to be something better - more productive, or sometimes just plain more fun - to do. And when given the choice, why would you pick to do something less enjoyable?

I'm not going to delete Awesomeology. I probably never will. I may update extremely sporadically, I may never update. (Although I probably will.) I'm just tired of feeling guilty for not doing it, and even guiltier for not wanting to do it. I know I shouldn't, because seriously, who cares, but I can't help it, my mind just makes me feel guilty anyway. I don't even have a reason to feel guilty! Still.

Wow, if you read all that, I'm seriously impressed because that was some boring word puke, right there. Invisible-telepathic-online-hug for you!

I suppose that's all.

I guess I'll see you... whenever!

My New Room Rooms: Hanging Out

Guess who's alive? Me! Shocker, isn't it? (That wasn't supposed to be sarcastic at all.) SO today I got bored on the internet and decided to make another one of these, except with a less embarrassingly stupid title. It's supposed to be like, I don't know, a club or something like that. Like a lounge. A place to go to hang out with a paid year membership or something. Hehe! :P Enjoy, and click to enlarge! (Sorry about the blue menu thing at the bottom, I couldn't get rid of it.)
It appears I have a thing for TVs parallel to the door and rooms that have lots of sections. Ugh, now I'm noticing tons of mistakes in this thing but oh well, too late.

Was the pool table too much? Is it right for me to regret putting a digital camera on top of a video game system? Is that little empty space at the very far right bugging you as much as it's bugging me? Let me know! This is important stuff.

Bad luck Tuesday: I forgot to wear a belt today...need I say more? Le sigh

Spring Has Sprung!

I went to a small park by my house yesterday. I wanted to go for a walk. I also wanted to take my new camera out for a spin! (I recently acquired the Nikon Coolpix L120. It's fantastic! It's exactly what I was looking for. And I got it on mega sale too. Woohoo!) Anyway, there were a LOT of daffodils at the park, so I thought I'd immortalize their beauty in a few HQ pictures! Enjoy.

PS - Do you like the new blog design? It's about time I got rid of all the snow! Hehe, sorry I left it there for so long.

What I Would Want for Valentine's Day if I *Weren't* Rich

Happy two-days-after-Valentine's-Day! Did you have a good one? Lots of chocolate and roses and delicious conversation hearts? I hope so! Mmm.

So, last year I did a list of what I'd want for Valentine's day if I were rich. This year, I thought I'd do the opposite! Let's get started.

1. A bouquet of roses
2. A super-sweet greeting card
3. A box of conversation hearts
4. A nice and reasonably-priced pair of earrings
5. Something with a  heart on it
6. Love and kindness!
7. Something handcrafted
8. A box of chocolates
10. Some cash!
11. A fantastic bargain
12. A goldfish!

Yup, you can never go wrong with a goldfish! :)

What did you get for V-day? What did you WANT to get for V-day?

Quirks #3

I compulsively "star" the items in my Google Reader. My starred-items list is breathtakingly long. Seriously. It's a problem.

I think of something to say for a Quirks post very, very often, usually at night when I'm trying and failing miserably to fall asleep. I forget them the next morning.

My preferred color of cat is orange. (Come on. I dare you to disagree. I DARE you.)

I dislike the scent of pears. Strongly. Everyone else I know really, really likes it.

My wardrobe is about to explode. Too many clothes, you say? No! It is literally too small. I swear.

Ever since I bought a BUNCH of fluffy socks about a year ago, I refuse to wear any other type of socks. (All you other socks are inferior! Mwa ha ha ha!)

I got a calendar for Christmas (there's a new cat every month! Aah! That pleases me so much!). I used to have a planner. And I now know that I prefer calenders so, SO much. It's actually visible! Constantly! Whoa!

Whenever I don't know what to type and/or don't want to type something, I press "K" and then backspace over and over and over again. It is so weird. I have no idea why I do it, or when I started to do it. (Though it was fairly recently, in the last few months I'd say.) It's not so much the letter K as the placement of the letter K on the keyboard. Weird!

Since I was about six years old, my favorite number has been five. Always unchanging. Possibly due to the fact that I had five wall decals in my room, each of them of a different Disney princess. Since then, I noticed that a bunch of things came in quantities of five. And I fell in love with the number five. (What a beautiful love story!) Oh, and if you were wondering, my favorite Disney princess always has been and always will be Sleeping Beauty. Gotta love her.

What are your quirks?

Hope You Had an Incredible Christmas.

If you celebrate Christmas - and I know I'm a couple days late in saying this - I hope you had a spectacularly fantastic one. I hope you got countless presents you wholeheartedly adore. I hope you got to decorate your home so that it looked marvelously festive. But most of all, I hope you got to spend such a special day - or two days! Or even more! - with your dearest loved ones...and I hope they were tolerable and not the annoying type ;)
Merry belated Christmas from my family to yours!
Picture from Kevin & Amanda. Another thing...I hope your home was as cozy and wonderful as this! That's truly an incredible living room. It's perfect. I love it!

Oh, How Things Do Change

Well, hi! It's been exactly a month since I've done anything to this blog. Listen up cuz I'm about to tell you a deep dark secret.
For over two months, I've been contemplating ending Awesomeology.
Yup, that's right. I considered it. I strongly, strongly considered. I was set on doing it. I didn't enjoy blogging here anymore, it felt like uuuuugh omg I have to write something on Awesomeology today? Ughhhhh. I don't waaaaant to when it should have felt like yippee! Time to update Awesomeology! Yay!!!!!
I have made my decision.
And it's a pretty big one.
I have decided that I will continue to post on Awesomeology. But there will be a huge difference. It won't be too different from the sporadic past two (or is it three?) months, but it will be different from when I started this site. I will only post when I both have content and want, really really want to do so. Translation? Once a month is the huge maximum. If I'm disappointing anybody I'm both flattered and sorry, but I need to put myself first before I go insane from guilt and mental freak-outs when I'm trying to fall asleep.
So are we all set? I don't have to feel guilty about hardly posting because you're fully disclosed now? Ahhhhh. There's a sigh of relief. Good. Great. Wonderful! Awesome!
Thanks. I don't think I'll be ending Awesomeology anytime soon. I even revived the template! Because seriously, in my climate, beaches and waves are just not gonna happen for the next seven months :)
PS - I'm curious...if you celebrate it and are currently in a festive music mood, what Christmas song are you listening to right now? Frosty the Snowman for me :) FROSTY 4EVAH!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love Frost-o.
